About

So finally a bit about me, just a bit!

Born in West Yorkshire but lived and worked most of my life in the South of England. My home now is in East Sussex.

As more of a practical person, aged 15 I left school, and went to a college in Brentford which basically taught me the old traditional stuff such as how to sew, darn, cook, clean, iron etc., which I cannot deny has been very useful but not really what I had hoped for in a career.

Once married I studied at night school to get the 'o' levels, typing and accounting qualifications that I didn't get at school.

My working life has seen me as a postie, a cook, a punch card operator/verifier, barmaid, clerk, secretary and book-keeper, finally ending my career as a director in a soft furnishings factory before taking early retirement in 2006.

I would have loved to have gone to art school, however if I could have my life over again I wouldn't change a thing. I am very lucky that now in my retirement I have time to catch up on all the things that I couldn't do in my earlier life.

Since my retirement I have studied Pattern Making in London, Art and Design Foundation at City College Brighton, and Fine Art at The University of Chichester which brings me to where I am now with a degree in Fine Art, proving that you are never too old to learn.

Since leaving university I have continued to study through short courses. Most recently learning to create and code my own web site. Now I have at last created this web site I can get back to painting and creating, and will keep this site updated.
